I&#039;ve often joked how we start off going over the deep end on the sidelines with our first child, and end up reading the New York Times on the sidelines with our last child, just like your example!!  It&#039;s called &quot;First Child Syndrome!&quot;  (The same applies to babies - e.g., we sterilize the binky every time it hits the floor with baby #1, only to end up jamming it right back into the mouth of babies #3 or 4 without even a thought!) I remember seeing a parent at a swim meet who sat and read the NY Times during the event.  After attending hundreds of youth sporting events myself, I think he had the right idea.  He was there to watch and support his child and pay for lunch afterwards!]]></description>
